Celebrate Summer at Roger Williams Park Zoo & Carousel Village

June 23, 2016
With June comes more sunshine and warmer weather at the Roger Williams Park Zoo. After you have enjoyed the more than 100 species of rare and exotic animals at the Zoo, get the most out of your summer day by visiting the Carousel Village in Roger Williams Park, a popular family destination since the mid-1890s. The attraction features classic colonial horses, benches, and other real and mystical creatures for families to choose from. Children under the age of 4 must be accompanied by an adult. Individual rides are $2 each, and discounted packages are available at $20 for 12 rides. RWP Zoo members enjoy a $5 discount.

While you’re at the Carousel Village, be sure to check out the additional seasonal activities! Pony rides are now offered during normal carousel hours, allowing guests to experience these majestic animals like never before in a safe and fun environment. Children must be age 2 or older to ride, and must be under 100 lbs. Rides are $5 per person. And at the bounce house, leap, jump and play the day away. Don’t forget to bring socks, as they are required to enter the bounce house! This activity is available for children ages 3 through 12 and is priced at $3 for 5 minutes.

Why pick one activity, when you can experience all of them as many times as you want? This special wristband gives your child unlimited rides on the carousel, and access to the bounce house and pony rides on the day of your visit. Each $20 wristband is valid for one child.

Make weeknights special all summer long by visiting the Carousel Village for weekly special events. On Mondays (June 13 & July 4 excluded), cruise down to Classic Car Night to marvel at cars owned and maintained by local enthusiasts, rock out with tunes from the 50’s and 60’s, plus enjoy special extended hours for the carousel and playground. Or kick off the weekend at Food Truck Friday, presented by Munroe Dairy and New York Life! Enjoy a smorgasbord of great food from 10 or more of the area’s best food trucks provided by FoodTrucksIn.com, ride the carousel and explore Hasbro's Boundless Playground.
