After a way too long period of time being stuck indoors, I'm pretty sure most people are more excited than ever for a fun summer spent outdoors! Fresh air is good for the soul — not to mention it helps to get the wiggles out of the kids.

We put together a list to help you find fun things to do this Summer with your family in Providence(or just a short drive away!) during these next few Summer months in Providence, Rhode Island:

1. Rent a Kayak and explore the city waterways. Paddle along and see our historic city from a completely new vantage point! All ages and skill levels welcome. Walk ups are welcome but reservations are recommended. Starting at $20. For more info https://www.providencekayak.com/

2.Explore the vastness of Roger Williams State Park. With 427 landscaped acres to explore, Roger Williams State Park may have more to it than you have previously explored. There are trails to walk, historic sites to see and if your feeling like adding a bit more fun there is always the carousel or a ride on the swan boats. 3. Explore the free state water parks of Providence. When it starts to get real hot, one of the best ways to cool off is to let the kids run around a splash pad! Public splash pads are free to the public and operate June 26-September 4. For a list of city water parks visit https://www.providenceri.gov/providence-recreation/pools-water-parks/

4. Watch a family friendly film outdoors in the city! No need to go far to see an outdoor movie this summer, the Providence Rink will be hosting a monthly offering of family movies. A fun night is sure to be had with a beer garden for the adults, food vendors and free popcorn! You must reserve a spot ahead of time online as they are sure to fill up!
