Pride Celebrations and Connections in Providence

Providence, Rhode Island has a reputation for being a LGBTQQIAAP friendly city and that's something to be proud of! While Pride Celebrations may still not be in full swing this year, there are pockets of happenings and events to get excited about! Read on for some great ways to celebrate Pride month in Providence, Rhode Island! 

1) Visit The Queer Art Collective. A new and exciting art gallery created to be a safe space for queer art founded by Taylor Davis. For more info and events visit https://www.thequeerartcollective.org/

2) Connect with Youth Pride Inc. While most events are still online, they have set up regular ways for youth to connect via Zoom and Discord. From programs for youth questioning, to teenagers needing safe space to connect, there are lots of options on their events calendar. 3) Providence Equality Festival. Askew in Providence is hosting a block party celebration for the LGBTQQIAAP community. There will be food trucks, vendors and face paint by Yosefa. There will be a drag performance and a live DJ. This much fun hasn't happened around here in a while so don't miss out! June 19 at 6pm. 4) Grab a sweet treat to celebrate Pride month at one of the many eateries around Providence. From donuts to Ice cream and everything in between, there are lots of pride treats to explore! 5) The Queer Umbrella Class is back in person! A free library program for youth ages 12 and up creates a safe space for queer education with time spent on making and crafting as well.
